The Association for Energy Transition (ATE) has warned that the target of 81% renewable electricity by 2030<\/strong> will be “unattainable without investments in power grids under stable regulation” <\/a>
\n 1<\/sup>
\n<\/a>. In a document, the non-profit organization defends “the absolute need for the energy transition to be more than just a plan”, stressing as “essential” to have a robust electricity grid that allows renewable electricity to reach all consumption points that want to electrify. In this regard, the ATE states that without electricity grids “it is not possible to achieve the country’s objective of decarbonization and reindustrialization”, for which it will be necessary to anticipate the investments that the electricity system will need, instead of attending to each request individually. The report also calls for recognition of a much “more ambitious” investment in networks, double the current figures, and to eliminate the legal limit on investments in electricity networks “with the aim of strengthening, modernizing and expanding their connections”. In addition, ATE sees the need to establish a “simpler, more stable and predictable remuneration framework aligned with best practices and adapted to the new challenges and roles offered by the energy transition that will have a positive impact on the Spanish economy and the rest of the sectors”. <\/a>

ATE has stressed that the energy transition must be more than just a plan, and that it is essential to have a robust electricity grid that allows renewable electricity to reach all consumption points that want to electrify.
